 Vilnius is becoming more accessible

On March 29, the Latvian national airline airBaltic started operating flights on the route from Vilnius to Dublin, capital of Ireland. On March 30, the Latvian national airline airBaltic started operating flights on the route from Vilnius to Hamburg, Germany. AirBaltic will fly from Vilnius to Hamburg three times a week - on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Passengers will board a Fokker 50 aircraft for a flight that will last for two hours and 40 minutes. One-way ticket prices will start at LVL 34 (EUR 49), including airport fees and transaction costs.
In summer season 2010 airBaltic will offer direct flights from Vilnius to Amsterdam, Berlin, Dublin, Copenhagen, London, Munich, Paris, Rome, Tallinn, Hamburg and Oslo. A full schedule of flights is available on the company's homepage www.airbaltic.com

 Restaurant Bergs in Riga included in the list of Europe's 50 best restaurants

The downtown Riga restaurant Bergs has been included on the list "The European 50 Best Restaurants".
Bergs has been named 47th best restaurant in Europe. Bergs is Latvia's only representative in the internationally recognized list of 100 high-quality restaurants, spanning 23 countries.

 

New hotel projects were not stopped by crisis

Though 2009 was one of the least successful years for the hotel market in the last five or six years, experts name successful examples too: Gile hotel was opened in Vilnius last spring. The new hotel found a solution to the occupancy problem: in summer it attracts tourists, while during the academic year it offers accommodation to students.
This is the first hotel in The Baltic's for young and active tourists, apart of centrally location offering common kitchens, sitting rooms, Wi-Fi - all ideal backpackers hotels facilities!

 Estonian shipping company will open a hotel in Riga

Estonian company AS Tallink Grupp presents a hotel in Riga under its own brand. Tallink Hotel Riga will receive its first guests on April 15, 2010.
The new hotel will be designed for 256 rooms. It received the status of "4 stars". New Tallink in Riga will both for the business travelers and for ordinary travelers.
